Moon Supervisors Hire Special Counsel for Marcellus Shale Ordinance

The Moon Board of Supervisors on Wednesday night hired the Pittsburgh-based Tucker Arensberg law firm to revise the township's oil and gas drilling ordinances.



In an effort to prepare Moon for future Marcellus Shale drilling, attorneys from the firm will expand the township's drilling ordinances to include specific guidelines on how drilling may impact road maintenance and noise level, among other factors.

It's been quite a week -- full of protests, some key votes in the House and the Senate and the long-awaited unveiling of a proposed impact fee for natural gas drillers. Pa. Marcellus Shale Commission Criticized

Harrisburg, Pa. - The Bradford County Commissioners Chairman took Pennsylvania's Marcellus Shale commission to task Thursday. Mark Smith spoke to the commission in Harrisburg. He has long complained about Bradford County's lack of representation on the commission.

PennDOT Posted Roads GIS Data Available

 

My company, Development Faction, LLC maintains & updates shapefiles of PA roadways that are considered 10 ton posted by PennDOT. These shapefiles are continually updated as new information is released by our contacts at the various PennDOT districts.

 

They provide a nice GIS overlay for mapping and are extremely useful for truck routing, roadway bonding, etc.

Marcellus Shale symposium held at SRU

Pennsylvania is sitting on the second largest natural gas field in the world, according to Dan Billman, a petroleum geologist and owner of Billman Geologic Consultants.
