The problem is the correct preparation of the first part of the well to insure no infusion of foreign matter into the water strata.  The fracturing is not a problem, it is the handling, treatment, and disposal of the frac fluids that are the major concern.  Blowouts and spills as well as improper handling of fracing fluids are the real danger in the process and where the majority of the problems occur.
